The conference’s central theme, “Securing the Future: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Cybersecurity in Development,” focuses on employing cutting-edge technologies to strengthen cybersecurity in various development sectors

OBJECTIVES

The objectives are to:
1. Highlight the importance of cybersecurity in sustainable development.
2. Showcase emerging technologies and innovations in the field of cybersecurity and SMMEs showcasing their technologies and solution that are in the cybersecurity space.
3. Address specific challenges and capacity-building needs in cybersecurity for development projects.
4. Foster dialogue and collaboration between the public and private sectors.
5. Encourage the formulation of effective cybersecurity policies and regulations.

Cybersecurity4D, hosted annually by PAICTA, stands as a pivotal event in today’s digital era where technology is fundamental to all development facets. The event highlights the crucial role of cybersecurity. The PAICTA Conference, themed ‘Cybersecurity4D: Leveraging Emerging Technologies’, is specifically designed to tackle this essential need. Its focus is on exploring, engaging in discourse, and fostering the integration of comprehensive cybersecurity practices in development initiatives throughout Africa, making the most of cutting-edge technological progress.

Prof Mpekoa is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Computer Science and Software Engineering, Faculty of Science, University of Johannesburg. Also, an adjunct professor at the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Informatics, at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and an NRF Y-rated researcher. She has more than sixteen years of lecturing experience and has taught modules such as Computer Systems, Computer Security and Networking. Prof Mpekoa has a driven robust passion in the area of Mobile Technologies, M-Services (e-Government and M-Government), and mobile security.

Prof. Sam Takavarasha Jr is the Dean at Women's University of Africa's Faculty of Management and Entrepreneurial Sciences. He also holds key roles in various conferences and journals within the field of information systems and technology. His educational background includes a BSc in Computer and Information Systems from the University of Portsmouth, UK, a PhD from the University of Zimbabwe, and a postdoc at the University of Fort Hare, SA.

Rufaro Mhuruyengwe, Technology Marketing Director at Oracle, brings over 15 years of marketing expertise to deliver data-driven experiences. Specialising in crafting customer-centric technology propositions, she integrates data, devices, and individuals to drive organisational advancement. With a successful history of leading African marketing initiatives, Rufaro fosters collaboration across teams and regions. She closely collaborates with channel teams to implement cutting-edge strategies, ensuring Oracle's continued innovation and market leadership.


Dr Omowunmi E. ISAFIADE
Technical Committee Vice Chairperson

Dr Isafiade is an NRF Y-rated researcher and a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Western Cape with over 12 years of lecturing and research experience and numerous publications in accredited conference and journal platforms. She received both MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town, and a PGDip degree in Mathematical Sciences from AIMS, South Africa. She has served as part of the Technical Program committee at various conferences and is an active reviewer for several high impact journals such as Springer Nature.
